Counselor Job Description:
The counselors at the Groveland Summer Recreation Program have the most important job of all as they are the ones who directly work with the children all day, every day. Each counselor’s responsibility is to choose appropriate age level games and activities for the children in their group to participate in. All counselors are required to conduct these activities and participate in these activities with the children. Counselors are expected to promote a positive attitude and positive sportsmanship throughout the members of their group. Counselors are expected to follow the discipline procedures set forth by the Groveland Summer Recreation Program and serve as positive role models for the children. Counselors are expected to assist other staff members as needed. All staff of the Groveland Summer Recreation Program must be certified in CPR/First Aid by either the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association (preferred). Must be 16 years old by June 15th.
Working Hours: 8:15am – 3:45pm or 5:30pm (Monday-Friday)
Custodian Job Position:
We are looking to hire two responsible young people who will serve as our summer program custodians. Duties include (but are not limited to) sweeping, vacuuming, trash, classroom and bathroom cleaning, and assisting the full time custodians at Bagnall Elementary School. There will be two five hour shifts daily, Monday – Friday: 10am-3pm and 12:30pm-5:30pm. All staff of the Groveland Summer Recreation Program must be certified in CPR/First Aid by either the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association (preferred). Must be 16 years old by June 15th.
